AI/ML Engineer

Optum is hiring an AI/ML Engineer for its Hyderabad, India location (Requisition Number: 2376808). The role focuses on designing and implementing AI architectures that integrate multiple data sources, including PDFs, spreadsheets, macros, and APIs, with machine learning models, generative AI, and LLMs. Responsibilities include developing AI/ML solutions for Sales and Digital applications, automating manual processes, improving user experience, conducting predictive analysis, supporting competitive analysis, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Candidates must have 5+ years of Python experience with data science libraries such as scikit-learn and Databricks, 3+ years of production NLP experience using technologies such as transformers and GPT, and 2+ years of experience applying LLMs, RAG, vector databases, and embeddings to real-world problems. Experience with supervised and unsupervised learning, time-series forecasting, statistical analysis, model API development, and at least one cloud platform (Azure, AWS, or GCP) is required, with Azure preferred. Preferred qualifications include vision and speech models, proof-of-concept development, Java/J2EE, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and modern frontend frameworks such as ReactJS, Angular, NodeJS, Svelte, or Vue.js.
